What began as one naturopath’s vision has grown into an established practitioner-focused brand, built on a passion for natural medicine, education and innovation.
BioActiv Healthcare was founded in 1996 by Glen Gillard, an experienced Naturopath and Herbalist with more than 40 years of involvement in the natural healthcare industry.
Glen’s journey began in Sydney, where his passion for natural medicine developed through working in health food retail and studying naturopathy. He later established Biochemico Pty Ltd, a successful distribution business supplying complementary medicines to healthcare practitioners.
After relocating to Brisbane, Glen continued expanding his knowledge through clinical practice, research, education and formulation development.
Throughout his career, Glen recognised a recurring challenge: practitioners needed greater access to quality, specialised natural healthcare formulations that were not readily available in the marketplace.
Determined to bridge this gap, he began developing his own range of herbal extracts, nutritional supplements and functional foods, combining traditional knowledge with his extensive clinical experience.
